Hiking

For my 13th birthday, my dad took me on a hiking trip to the Wichita Mountains. It was hard at times, but it was the funnest I’ve had in a long time! We hiked about 5 miles in all. It was over hills and mountains with a full backpack so that made it harder too.
We started driving south-west about 9:00 a.m. Saturday. We got there about 11:00 a.m. and started hiking. Although it got easier and easier all the time it was hard hiking all the way through.
We hiked on hilly ground for a while and then picked a mountain we wanted to climb and decided it was to much of a mountain to climb with our backpacks. We couldn’t carry them any farther anyways. It was a good excuse though. The mountain was called twin rocks mountain because it had two huge rocks that were sitting right on top of it that looked exactly the same. So we set up our tent and camp and started hiking to the top of the mountain.
So we got almost to the top of the mountain and decided that was enough because if we went any more then we would be risking our lives.
We saw a lot of wildlife too including a coyote, two elk, four deer, countless buffalo including a 6 foot tall bull, bull snake, tarantula, and a vulture. Well that’s all for now,
Shiloh
